Happy Holidays to all you Kunenans out there!

The year 2009 has been very busy. After we decided to fork Fireboard in January, we went live in February and kicked out a new release every 4-6 weeks on average. Most of our time went into fixing buggy Fireboard code, writing a new 1.5 version, and finally kicking off work on Kunena 2.0 with a developer meeting in Silicon Valley this summer.

Kunena has quickly become the most widely used native Joomla forum component—breaking 250,000 downloads only months after its initial launch.

The Kunena Team announces the immediate availability of Kunena 1.5.8. This is a maintenance release which resolves over 20 reported issues and hardens security.

This release also contains new features sponsored by Intown Web Design which give users more options for non-English URLs and character sets. There are also more URL configuration options.

The Kunena Team announces the immediate availability of Kunena 1.5.7. This is an important security release and users are urged to update immediately. Five security issues and an Internet Explorer 8 table bug have been resolved in this release. This release also contains many other important bug fixes.

This release of Kunena also contains the following new features:

• JomSocial user points and activity stream integration
• AlphaUserPoints profile and points integration
