When a user is banned, the "banned" field is set in the database (with a date for the ban).

If you select "banned=yes" in the user view, the filter acts on it: it lists the users for whom a ban date has been set.

Unfortunately, the "banned" column in the database contains 1000-01-01 00:00:00 for all users. There is no date entered for the ban.

The user is also listed as banned if he is banned. A blocked user is therefore also marked as blocked, but is not actually blocked, as the blocking date is not entered.

The term "locked" is actually only used for Joomla users. In the user account details, the user has the user status Released or Locked (0 or 1). In the user database, this is shown in the "block" column, 0 or 1, but there is no date field for the block.

How is it with user synchronization in Kunena Tools?
How is the synchronization of the blocking between Joomla and Kunena carried out if there is a 1 in Joomla and a date in Kunena?

Replied by rich on topic Session timeout
Does this happen often? It can always happen that you are logged out even though the time limit has not been exceeded. This has always happened in Joomla and can happen in the frontend as well as in the backend.
The setting "User Edit Grace Time = 3600" in the configuration (tab Users) does not help you in this respect, as it only has a function in connection with "User Edit Time".
This means that if you only give permission to edit for a certain time, e.g. 20 minutes. After that, the user has 20 minutes before the edit button disappears.
But if he has opened the edit window within these 20 minutes, he will have as much time until to edit and sending as specified in "User Edit Grace Time".
This is not relevant for you, as you always allow editing.

Session timeout was created by makitso
Joomla 4.4.3, Kunena  6.2.4.
I have the Joomla timeout is set to 60 minutes. The kunena session timeout is set to 3600 seconds.
However, I have Kunena users complaining about their session timing out while editing a post sooner than these limits.
Am I missing somethin

Should work so far. I have updated Joomla, installed Kunena over it again, redirect plugins disabled and disabled SEO settings.
Rename your htaccess.txt to .htaccess (the dot at the beginning is important), then select in the Joomla global configuration:
Search Engine Friendly URLs = Yes
Use URL Rewriting = Yes
Then test your forum again.
Also check your category settings. If the section is only accessible for superusers and your group named "Forum", the contained category cannot be seen by guests, also if is set to Public.

I have tried my best to apply everything you have suggested I do there are no main menu forms linked to the forum I have used the menu creation tool to recreate the forum menus and I get this error not sure if it means anything:

danger
Joomla\CMS\Table\MenuType: :delete failed - Some menu items or some menu modules related to this menutype are checked out by another user or the default menu item is in this menu.

You can make any changes you wish to get the forum working on forum.BiiC.co.za I have set up super user access in private message and I have logged in using it and pre accepted the privacy acceptance so that you won't be forced to view profile when you login.

Main issues posts are not selectable as it runs into a timeout if you select a post to view.
I have set all the blog categories to "Forum" access level not quite sure what the difference is between access level and access group setting on Kunena permissions maybe that might be the issue??
I just realy need to get this forum working urgently Please help.

Can reproduce with different templates (Joomla and Kunena) and J4 and J5. Furthermore I see that webdeveloper network inspection shows a http 303 statuscode which means a "redirect".

Replied by Gindi on topic "Thank you" without reload?
I only use the standard templates Cassiopeia and Aurelia without any special settings. I tested with Joomla 5.0.3 and Kunena 6.2.4
To test this, I selected a post in the middle of a topic and clicked on "Thank you".
The post only moved by the inserted line and I did not notice that the topic was reloaded.
I was also able to call up the overview (Recent Topics) without saving.

Ok so my real issue is that I can't get the menu items to display in the Kunena navigation.

Under MENUs I have the Joomla 'Main Menu' and 'Kunena Menu'
  • If I create 'Joomla' menus for Kunena the menu items appear in the Joomla site navigation AND in the Kunena template navigation.
  • However, If I create the menu items in the 'Kunena' menu they don't appear anywhere at all.
I'd like the menu items to appear in the Kunena template menu location like in the screen shot attached.

Joomla 4.4.2
PHP:  8.1.27

I added the code to line 55 of:

/plugins/kunena/comprofiler/comprofiler.php

and the issue is persisting. Would you like me to get you edit access to the host file system?
26 Feb 2024 16:03
Thanks for all this, not sure but you can try this under comprofiler plugins on file comprofiler.php (at line 55  github.com/Kunena/Kunena-Forum/blob/K6.2.../comprofiler.php#L55 )  add that :
Code:
if (php_sapi_name() === 'cli') {             return;         }

If it will help, I made a test site called apitest.aiskon.net that has the same issue.  The installs are:
  1. Joomla 5.0.3
  2. Kunena 6.2.4
  3. Community Builder 2.9
Nothing else.  The same issue happens on this site - when you browse to apitest.aiskon.net/api the same messages come up, depending on if the Kunena Plugin for Community Builder Integration is enabled or not.

If this would be easier to work with than my other test site, let me know and I can make a login for you there.
