Hello all,

I have an issue and I really don't know how to solve it. My website has the version 5.3.0 of Joomla and version 6.4.2 of Kunena with all the languages pack and plugins updated. On my site is installed also Community Builder, updated at the last version available.

When I click on the Forum menu, the forum Index page is loaded very very slow (over 8 seconds to render it), you can see this slowness by clicking here: www.jokeristi.it/index.php/forum/index

The strange thing is this is the only kunena slow page, all the other pages (recents, search etc.) are rendered normally in about 1 second or less. I already tried to change the site's template with a new and clean one, and reinstall it, but the issue remains. Already tried to disable so many plugins, almost all, withouth resolving.
Enabling the Joomla's debug I can see the most slow profile to load is this:
afterRenderComponent com_kunena (7.45MB) (8.01s)

The queries are 124, and they are very fast, milliseconds.

I also destroyed the Kunena menu and recreated it by Kunena's backend, but without solving the issue.

This issue was already present with older version, and I never found the root cause... please, can you help me? I really have finished all my ideas. Here you can find the complete report.

Thank you!!!!

Giordano.

I see an error:

Check your menu-items.

In your configuration report I can also see wrongly configurered menu-items.

Hello Pinkeltje, and thank for your reply.

I already tried that way today, and retry to do it now, but without changing the situation. Maybe I'm not doing the correct fixing, I try to explain exactly what I do:

- From the backend of Joomla I go to "Menus" - "Manage". Here i can found the Kunena Menu and the Main Menu. I select all the Kunena Menu and delete it. I open the Main Menu and I can found the Forum object. I select and trash it. I empty the trash bin and delete all the trashed objects.

- I open Components - Kunena Forum - Dashboard. Here I can see the advice "Install Kunena Menus" and I click on the "Install" button. I click on the "Restore Kunena Menu" and I have this message: "The Kunena navigation menu and main forum link have been created."

- I return to Menus - Manage, I can see a brand new Kunena Menu and a new unpublished object under "Main Menu", called "Forum" with alias "kunena-2025-05-16". If I publish it, on the frontend I can see a new menu called Forum, but if I click on it from frontend I can go only to the Recent Topics forum page.

- If I go to open Menus - Manage - Kunena Menu, all the menu items are assigned to Spanish language only. I don't have the spanish language on my site, so I have been entered on every menu object and changed the language association to All

Cleared the joomla cache and browser cache, I reload the frontend's homepage. I reclick to Forum menu but I have the same result: the Recent Topics is my forum's home page and I cannot see any other Kunena's menu.

So, I am returned to Menus - Manage - Main Menu and modified the "Forum" menu. On "Menu Item Type" I leave "Menu Item alias", and in Menu item I click on Edit and selected Kunena Menu - Index. Saved and closed.

Cleared Joomla and browser cache, reloaded the frontend page. If I click to "Forum" now I can correctly reach the forum's index, but the rendering time is returned to about 7-8 seconds to load that page.

I'm pretty sure I'm doing something wrong... but really, I don't know what. I have retried all for at least 10 times today, and exactly reading the page you linked me in this topic, seems to be all done correctly, but it continues to be slow on loading. Do you have any idea?

Thank you!

Giordano.

Strange. Can you test with JCH Optimize disabled?

OK, I have retried disabling JCH Optimize... none, more or less the Index page of Kunena seems to be always slow, it takes 7.56 seconds to render.

Already tried to do the procedure of deleting the menu and recreate it, nothing is changed.... it is always slow

Hi,
Try to rename the com_kunena folder in "[root]/templates/ja_purity_iv/html/" folder.

- Please provide your site url if it has been lived.
- Please share tip if it worked fine with you.
- Don't be shy about using the "Thanks" button below if you found my comment helpful :)
