Kunena 7.0.4 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

I'm not sure I understand, though. First, all the duplicates are already disabled (unpublished), both in the Kunena menu and the main menu.

Unfortunately, the problem is that deactivated menu items can also cause errors. This even happens with menu items in Trash.

When I start a new class, I create a new forum just for that class - Twist was one class, Garden is another, and there will be more in the future

The easiest way in your case would be to create a separate user group for each school class. Then you would no longer need extra menu items, the original menu created by Kunena would be sufficient.

Ok, I did all that - trashed all the duplicate menu items and emptied trash, created separate user groups for each class and assigned students, set category permissions. It all works fine, except that it still takes a long time for the Index page to load.

Anything else I can try?

The menu items are ok now except the menu item in the main menu. This must be a Menu Item Type = Menu Item Alias ( see here ).
Delete this menu item and create instead a new menu item alias.
