6.3.2 Running Slow was created by mberman
I have a small site running Joomla 4.4.5. I have progressive caching and gzip turned on. The site is reasonably quick, but getting to the Index page of the forum takes 30 seconds or more. There are no posts yet, as I'm just getting it ready.

I actually thought it might be the server, so I moved it to a faster one at another host, but Kunena still runs way slow.

Any thoughts about what might be causing that?

Thanks,
Matt

Based on the menu items you have created, I assume that you have different access rules for your categories. You could regulate this more easily with category permissions and not with duplicate menu items. And this is where I suspect the error lies.
Please disable all duplicate menu items and then test the forum.

Thanks for the reply!

I'm not sure I understand, though. First, all the duplicates are already disabled (unpublished), both in the Kunena menu and the main menu. And I do not have different access rules for different categories. Everyone is an Author, under Registered.

Here's how the site works (and maybe doing it this way is wrong?). I only teach one Adaptations class at a time. When I start a new class, I create a new forum just for that class - Twist was one class, Garden is another, and there will be more in the future. All the other forum menu items are unpublished, so this class can only see their own forum.

Is that ok, or is there a better way to do this? Can I have multiple separate forums on one website, with students only able to see the forum and entries that are for their particular class.

Thanks,

Matt
