Question No category supplied - error

Hi - since upgrading our Joomla site to 4.3.2 (from 3) and updating to Kunena 6.1.1 users  are not able  to post replies in the forum. The error message is 'No category selected'. Creating posts works OK.
I have tried switching on debug but don't get any more information - any suggestion would be appreciated.
Thank you
Zoë

Hi Rich, apologies for not including the report. It's pasted below. I have generated this from a test site and the Kunena version is actually 6.1.0.

The last time that the forum worked was before we upgraded the site from Joomla 3 to Joomla 4. I can re-instate that site somewhere and get you an exact version but it would have been the latest possible J3 compliant one.

Your Kunena version and your NTK template are no longer up to date, you should update both. But first test it with the Joomla and Kunena default templates.

Hi Rich
Unfortunately I cannot use the standard Kunena template because it conflicts with out site template (Purity-iii). I managed to fix it enough (temporarily using firefox tools) to confirm that I see the same issue with the standard template and also in Kunena 6.0.11.
I updated (briefly) to Kunena 6.0.11 BUT the template that we (nts-kgrid) does not support anything beyond 6.0.10.
I am quite happy to try and debug this myself - I can see from looking at the page source that there are comments that make it look as though there should be a choice of categories appearing on 'reply' page.
I have checked the database and the correct category IDs are there in the ##_kunena_topics and categories. If you can tell me what files I need to look at to find the views I will put some debug in them. I expect this is probably a configuration problem - but at the moment I just cant see where to look.

PS - there is not much point looking at anything atm as the latest version 6.0.5 nts-kgrid template seems to have broken the 'reply' page more comprehensively. I have to leave the site as it is for now as I have given them access to look at it.
PPS - - I can see where that message is generated anyway, src/Controllers/

OK - ignore this. I can see that it is a problem with the NTS Kgrid template - there is no hidden field to post the cat_id in replies - so it doesn't get sent to Kunena. At least - I think that's what it is.
