Kunena 7.0.11 & Kunena 6.4.16 – Security Updates Released and K7.1 in RC1 2

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of three simultaneous security release : K6.4.16, K7.0.11 and K7.1 RC2. Just a reminder K6.4.16 receives only securities fixes untill end of 2026, so it's advised for users to upgrade to K7.0.11. K7.0.11 is the last release of the K7.0 because it's replaced by K7.1 branch with the stable release in the corner. The translations for K7.1 on crowdin.com/project/kunena-forum-7-1 needs to be checked or improved becasue it has been generated by TM (Translation Machine).

I see what you mean now. After looking into it more I found a good article about this . From Moz it says:

As with title tags, it is important that meta descriptions on each page be unique. One way to combat duplicate meta descriptions is to create a dynamic and programmatic way to make unique meta descriptions for automated pages.

So it seems that Kunena's profiles are not generating any meta descriptions, as a result the fallback seems to be using Joomla's meta description. Do you notice a lack of unique meta description with other pages?

So its not duplicated meta, only no description on profile. Will look at it.

Ok Should we do it like:

<meta name="description" content="View the profile: Xillibit" />

or like facebook:

<meta name="description" content="Xillibit is on "sitename". To connect with Xillibit, join "sitename" today. " />

facebook option is better, because too Short meta description is also a problem. Optimal Length for Search Engines Roughly 155 Characters

Pagination is basically the continuation of a discussion and to prevent too many posts loading all at once (helps with server and client end). What would you recommend for the meta description in pagination? The first reply on page 2 isn't necessarily going to be the main theme for the entire page 2. ;)

As for the pull request, glad to see some changes being made with this. It seems the new method is 'Name' is on 'forum name'. To connect with 'name', join 'forum name'. The problem I see is that the user's name is mentioned twice as well as the name of the forum. Search engines now days don't give any extra brownie points for repeats. However it seems Facebook is getting away with this pretty easily.

I cannot come up with a more clever title considering that it should be unique. Displaying the basic profile information does not look good as seen here .
