Question ARTIO JoomSEF: Link to individual posts not working

Hi there,

I am running Kunena 3.0.2 on a Joomla 2.5.14 platform.
Additionally I am using a SEF URL component called ARTIO JoomSEF 4.4.3 with Kunena extension 3.0.10. SEF for Kunena is enabled.

My problem is, that the Links to individual posts in the forum is not working, when clicking on the forum post number in the upper right corner of each post ( #1 ) .

On my website, this link is converted to something like www.mywebsite.de/#12345 , which is pointing to the starting page of my site and not to the post.

I have also disabled SEF but the issue remains exactly the same, so I assume it is not an Artio problem.

Does anybody here have similar issues and how could you fix it?

Any advise will be most welcme.

With best regards

Michael

mibert wrote: I am using a SEF URL component called ARTIO JoomSEF 4.4.3 with Kunena extension 3.0.10.

As soon as I saw "ARTIO JoomSEF" I said to myself, "Haven't we received hundreds, maybe a thousand or more problems, from people who try to use ARTIO JoomSEF and didn't all of those problems disappear when people uninstall it.?"

The fact is that, as far as we know, ARTIO JoomSEF has not been compatible with Kunena since the days of K 1.7. ARTIO JoomSEF has caused more problems for Kunena than any other SEO/SEF product I can remember, I strongly suggest you look at Kunena Features in the Wiki.

For those who have problems using Kunena with ARTIO JoomSEF, you have four choices:

(1) Discuss your problems with the team that created and supports ARTIO JoomSEF;

(2) Turn off ARTIO JoomSEF for anything that relates to Kunena and accept that ARTIO JoomSEF just doesn't work with Kunena;

(3) Unistall ARTIO JoomSEF; or

(4) Uninstall Kunena ... if ARTIO JoomSEF is more important to you than it is to have a discussion forum on your website.

If, however the team that brought you ARTIO JoomSEF can give you a money-back assurance that their product works with K 3.0.2, then please let us know and we will amend the information in our Wiki.

Some people who have used ARTIO JoomSEF have reported problems with Kunena even after "deactivating" ARTIO JoomSEF. For example, see Kunena 1.5 latest links don't work after Artio JoomSEF 3 uninstall .

The point we need to make is that if people have used 3rd-party SEO/SEF extensions for Joomla (e.g ARTIO JoomSEF or sh404SEF) they may find themselves in trouble. The Kunena team does not recommend or endorse any 3rd-party SEO/SEF extensions for Joomla and the Kunena project is not affiliated or has any involvement with the developers of such products. The Kunena team recommends the use of native Joomla SEO .

This website here, at www.kunena.org , uses native Joomla SEO. Do you see any problems with the way that this website works, here, in relation to "links to invidual posts not working"?

Hi sozzled,

you may be right, but Artio is an important part of my site, so I do not want to ommit.

I have tried the following steps to identify Artio as a root cause:
- Disabled SEF for Kunena in Artio extension >> Still same effekt
- Uninstalled Artio >> Effect was gone.
- Activated Kunena own SEF function >> Working no problem.

I will get in touch with them to fix the issue.

Best regards and thanks again

Michael
