Ahhh, thanks Rich. That explains it. I did not "create from scratch" that rank, but rather I simply the default "Moderator" rank to "Pilot Service Rep".

If I delete this rank, will that solve my issue? I do not want category moderators to have a special rank/title.

Delete does not solve the problem. Then it is again automatically "Moderator". Maybe you take a neutral rank name for moderators? And then create a own rank for "Pilot Service Rep" members.

Important! Always create a backup before you make any changes to your website!

Unless you explicitly assign a rank to your users, no-one will have a special rank.

Special ranks are "automatically" assigned in the case of administrators, global moderators and banned users.

Have we now resolved this matter to your satisfaction?

You forgot "Category Moderators". :^)

Yes, I can now "work around" this feature to display titles/ranks in my second-choice format.

I did not forget category moderators.

Category moderators are not automatically assigned any special ranks by virtue of you assigning the account to be a category moderator (as I demonstrated how this is done in the video presentation I referred to earlier in this discussion) except in those categories that are moderated by those accounts. Perhaps I should have clarified my earlier statement.

As an example of what I mean, take the category Catalan here in this forum; you see (at the bottom of the page) that the category moderator is johnnydement. Look at a message posted by johnnydement in that category (e.g. www.kunena.org/forum/117-Catalan/14307-b...tala-de-kunena#14329 )

Now look at messages posted by johnnydement in a category that his account is not assigned as a moderator (e.g. General Feedback ). Look at a message posted by johnnydement in that category ( www.kunena.org/forum/77-General-Talk-abo...-3-0?start=80#141140 )

See the difference?

Does this now answer your question?
