Kunena 7.0.6 & Kunena 6.4.12 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.6 [K 7.0.6] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the twelfth version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

This category is for discussing issues with the K 3.0 Blue Eagle template.

As general background, My Joomla site template makes a mess of Kunena .

We do not answer questions about other templates for Kunena here.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

Solved K 3.0.3: How do I make the Blue Eagle background transparent?

Thanks, sozzled, for asking the question. I may be literally the only person who cares, so I understand that the developers have better things to do.

But here is a little grist for the mill. As it stands now, I can't use CSS to override Blue Eagle's colors and achieve transparency. Why? Well, if I happily use Firebug to make the changes I need, all goes well. When I place them in a custom template CSS file that's the last one loaded on the site, its changes are in turn overridden by what Firebug chooses to display as a file with the filename: [name of the Kunena page that is currently loaded] under the (nonexistent) site folder "Forum-157". When the index page is loaded, Firebug displays the file name as index, (not index.css).

So ... apparently the fields from the Blue Eagle 3.0.3 configuration essentially become in-line HTML styling for a particular Kunena page, making the last-loaded CSS irrelevant. Of course, there would be absolutely no reason to override those fields unless you want something they can't provide ... and the only color they can't provide is transparency.

I think my only option, short of attempting a hack on the Blue Eagle template, is not to use transparency. That is a step backward for me, but for very few others.

If this explanation doesn't make any sense to you, I'm not surprised. I can supply some Firebug screen snips that might clear it up. It should be easy to check on any Kunena test site, too, not that anyone should want to spend the time on my little problem!

The bottom line is that Blue Eagle 3.0.1 had a terrific undocumented feature :cheer: , and thanks for it! We'll see what the developers say, and I appreciate you running it by them.

Take care!

OK, thanks for looking at it, guys.

If nothing else, it's been worthwhile to watch an efficient team work. Nearly every corporation out there could take lessons from the Kunena Team in how to produce and maintain a high-quality, complex product. Doing it for free makes it all the more fascinating. I've never understood the business model, if there is one, of complex free software production like Joomla and Kunena. That's a lot of time to volunteer. You must get something out of it besides the gratitude of people like me who reap the benefits.
