Kunena 7.0.4 Released
The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0
This category contains miscellaneous, uncategorised user contributions, (templates, modules, plugins and hacks) relating to older versions of Kunena that are no longer supported.
The topics in this category are for historical interest only. Owing to the structural changes that occurred in K 1.7, many of the ideas in these topics will not work with later versions and, for that reason, the topics are locked.

I posted in the 3rd party topic so I am well aware that Kunena's free and powerful tool owes me nothing. I stated the template maker as I assumed you would be familiar with them. For all I know they are very busy on other projects. I said nothing negative. As far as benefiting others, I search forums daily and even updated a topic on this very forum this morning to make sure anyone looking for info about stack overflow problems that I experienced would benefit from what I learned and know it was not a Kunena issue but rather more likely a template error.
No problems here. I know who you are as a moderator as I have read at least fifty of your posts over the last year gleaning info. I was taken aback by such a turse reply but all is well. I will pay a Joomlancer and continue to search your well documented posts in the future.
My apologies if I have miffed you.

I wasn't offended. I was only trying to explain the situation.
Third-party developers and other users are welcome to submit and advertise their offerings to the community. As long as people understand that such offerings do not come with any guarantee of support by this community. We receive hundreds of requests each week concerning problems that people have; some of these may be caused by the template that they have chosen. The best way to establish whether the problem is caused by the template is to test the situation with a standard template.
If people then discover that the situation works with a standard template then this probably establishes some basis for concluding that the problem was caused by the template that they were using when they found the problem in the first place. Under those conditions (and as much as I sympathise with the predicament that some people may find themselves in because of them) the best answer that we can give is to recommend that they discuss those issues directly with the developers of the templates. Failing that, there is always the opportunity to report the existence of the problem - and we thank you for reporting the existence of the problem - or to submit your review on the KED (assuming that you were drawn to the product because it was advertised there) or the JED (if that is where the product was advertised).
But we do need to separate who is responsible for what. This isn't a fruitless, finger-pointing exercise and I'm making not comment about the suitability of other templates. We're here to help you make the best use of Kunena for your purposes.
Have you tested the Blue Eagle template with JomSocial and do you have a problem. Can we establish a baseline? Thanks.

I understand.
I have tested the Blue Eagle template. No issue with this Kunena standard template so yes it must be my template that is misbehaving.
It does not look like it's a core Kunena issue in any way.
Thanks

Just a quick update. This problem has been fixed. The template owner informed me that it was an error with J!1.6 and can be quickly resolved.
It was fixed by reinstalling a fresh upload of teh template, but anyone doing this NOTE that you must use the Kunena Template manager to upload the version and ensure nothing goes awry. Go to the Kunena Template Manager and select the "Add" button. I had refreshed the template but I had not used the Kunena uploader and had used my FTP tool.
Thanks for the help!

Oh!!
Yes, you should never try to FTP bits and pieces of Joomla components unless you know what you are doing. Kunena has a Template Manager function which allows you to install Kunena templates.
Thanks for updating this, Tiffany, and I'm glad that everything was sorted out.
