uddeIM 2.2 does not require legacy mode. If it does require legacy mode this comes as a total surprise to me (and it probably comes, likewise, as a surprise to Stephan Slabihoud, too).

It is possible that the compatibility chart describes the uddeIM module as not "compatible" but, what happens if you disable the System - Legacy plugin? I have a number of websites (some of which are using uddeIM 1.6) running Joomla 1.5.22 natively without any problems at all. The list produced by Joomla of extensions is not 100% foolproof.

This is what I wrote a while ago:

There's a very easy way to find out if you have J! 1.0 legacy software running on a J! 1.5 website. It's not 100% foolproof but it's reliable enough for our purposes:

Go to Extensions » Install / Uninstall

You will see that 6 sub-functions you can choose from:

  • Install
  • Components
  • Modules
  • Plugins
  • Languages
  • Templates
Click, one by one, each of the items I've bolded above. Browse the listed items and look for any items that have a red X in the compatibility column. For example, see the following image (the red X is shown against the ObjectClarity Kunena Discussbot plugin):

If you find any items like these, disable them; better still, uninstall them. I would say that you missed one or two. See if what I have suggested makes a difference. :)

But ... I don't think that you'll find that uddeIM 2.2 is actually not native for J! 1.5 in spite of what the list might say to the contrary.

The screen shot you showed comes as no surprise to me at all.

Here is one for you (screen shot take a few minutes ago) J! 1.5.22 running without the System - Legacy plugin enabled.

As you see, I have two modules that Joomla describes as not "compatible" but I have no troubles running without the System - Legacy plugin enabled.

Why not end this argument, disable the legacy plugin and see if your fears were correct?

I'm pleased to hear you've been successful. :)

(1) K 1.6 has not been tested with legacy mode - there's no need for legacy mode, it's not guaranteed by Joomla and it was never guaranteed that J! 1.5.x would work without problems. There's no intention to test Kunena with legacy mode ... ever!

(2) We have received a couple of reports that running legacy mode causes problems with Kunena. It seems sensible (and responsible) to advise users to disable the System - Legacy plugin ... particularly if it's not actually required!

(3) Perhaps you should report the matter of the erroneous Joomla extension compatibility report to Stephan Slabihoud?

Needed? Needed by what?

Needed by UDDEIM. When I have a look at the plugin, Joomla told me that it run only in legacy mode.
