Do you think that will fix the errors if I install the updated version?

I had installed CB 1.4 too and I had to uninstall it (you're right, it's defenitively not designed for Joomla 1.7), but the folder was still there. I deleted it, but I still got the error message (and I deleted all the comprofiler tables too). Then I completely uninstalled Kunena, reinstalled it, but I still had the problem. So I decided to install a fresh version of Joomla 1.7., and now I don't have the problem...

Ok so it seems we've had the exact same problem. I'll just wait for CB1.7, or wait, I think I have a Akeeba Backup. Lemme try that.

similar probs here..
we up dated our j 1.6.5 (a bit rashly  ) to j 1.7
we have cb 1.4 - uddeim 2.3 - kunena 1.6.4

:woohoo: lost the whole site to a 500 error
got the home page and articles back after fixing template compatability

waited a day or so and the k 1.6.5 was ready

uninstalled k 1.6.4 in extention manager> manage .... ticked the box for kunena commponent ... and when i uninstalled it the 'system kunena' went as well. no prob

i down loaded k1.6.5 and installed
now i am getting this error message;

Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /var/www/vhosts/confest.org.au/httpdocs/administrator/components/com_comprofiler/plugin.foundation.php on line 3222

Fatal error: Call to a member function getCfg() on a non-object in /var/www/vhosts/confest.org.au/httpdocs/administrator/components/com_comprofiler/plugin.foundation.php on line 3228

wondering where i have gone wrong or is c.b. now an issue?
might it have been better to NOT uninstall k 1.6.4 and simply update it?
from other reading it seems it is not easy to remove cb so i am guessing that i am best to wait for the cb upgrade due soon (ish)

 i really have to do some thing bout my patience levels don't i ?

cheers and thanks to the kunena team

I tried and install CB1.7 on Joomla!1.7 and it comprofiler didn't show in components list, but I can now acces the configuration panel. Gonna try installing it again, should work.
_________
It does show in the component management list.

EDIT
Didn't work out well, gonna go and try to ask it on Joomlapolis forums.
Anyyyway, Kunena works now and i should be happy with that.

EDIT AGAIN

It didn't create a admin menu but I can still navigate my way to it using this:

domain.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_comprofiler

I am running J 1.7 with a working installed version of K 1.6.5... That is until I installed the newest version of CB released today for J 1.7. After installation and an attempt to access the Kforum I received this message:

"500 Internal Server Error

Fatal Error was detected!

Fatal Error: Allowed memory size of 18874368 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 311296 bytes) in modules/mod_cblogin/mod_cblogin.php on line 377

The error was detected in the Cblogin Module."

I then disabled the CB modules and the component. After which I received this message.

"500 Internal Server Error

Fatal Error was detected!

Fatal Error: Allowed memory size of 18874368 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 48 bytes) in libraries/joomla/language/language.php on line 736

The error was detected in the Libraries."

I'm fairly educated as to Joomla but I'm not an advanced user (little knowledge of php, etc). I could really use some help as both components are necessary for my site.
