Since upgrading Kunena to 6.1.3, I am having troubles in categories and uninstalling using the Joomla extension system.

The first symptom was during the update I selected 3 extensions and updated in a batch. One of them sent the installer to a 500 internal system error page. I was able to go back into the joomla admin  section and two extensions were still ready to update including Kunena. I then updated each one individually and they both succeeded.

The next was an error while trying to delete a Kunena category. By ticking the category and choosing actions / delete, I get the following error message and the category is not

View not found [name, type, prefix]: categories, html, site

So I go to tools and run diagnostics, and all passed except this one:

categoryMissingAliasTEST FAILED1 issues

So I go back to categories and they all have an alias and the aliases are unique. Although two categories had the same alias at one point and I modified one so they were all unique.

Then tried to uninstall Kunena package and it failed:-

JInstaller: :Install: Can't find XML setup file.
Incorrect date value: '' for column `mpg_portal_live`.`n7x63_kunena_version`.`versiondate` at row 1

Went looking in the hosting apache error logs and found this from around the time of the 500 internal server error.

AH01071: Got error 'PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Cannot declare class PlgSystemNovaRainInstallerInstallerScript, because the name is already in use in /var/www/vhosts/', referer: &view=update

A web search suggest a couple of extensions by Tassos Marinos might be the issue so I uninstalled them and that allowed the Kunena uninstall to complete properly.

After installing Kunena 6.1.3 package with the joomla installer, I then went to the categories (data was preservered) and tried to delete the category and the same error was displayed as mentioed above and the category was not deleted.

I went into phpMyAdmin and checked the kunena_categories table and all categories have a value in the alias field.

I used the tools / Uninstall Kunena including DB and then did a fress install of Kunena v6.1.3. The install went well, but the software is still having the "view not found" error trying to delete a category.
I also noticed that I get the same message on the front end when editing a post.

The diagnostics are all passing now that I have created the category tree from scratch.

That view not found error make the software unusable at the moment.

It would be worth trying to change the entries profileiconset from default to standard and editoriconset from default to standard in the template settings.

Thanks for the reply.

I do not see any other option other than "default" in Aurelia template for both those icon sets.

I did not install the sample data. Does this add something?

Am I missing some component or add-on?

You had written the following:

I also noticed that I get the same message on the front end when editing a post.

You wrote that in the next post.

Which categories did you want to delete? Without sample data you have no categories and no smileys, unless it is an upgrade from K5.x to K6.x.
Try again with a clean reinstallation and also install the sample data.

Important! Always create a backup before you make any changes to your website!

Sorry I forgot to add that I created a bunch of categories before trying to delete one of them.

I have done a fresh joomla 4.3.3 installation and installed Kunena 6.1.3. The sample data is installed.

I installed into the root directory instead of the /portal/ directory I was using previously. I also turned off php output buffering (which is on the other site I have been playing with.

I tried to delete a category (Suggestion Box) and still get the error message "View not found [name, type, prefix]: categories, html, site".

Here is the server log from that same time:

AH01071: Got error 'PHP message: PHP Warning: Undefined property: Kunena\\Forum\\Administrator\\View\\Categories\\HtmlView::$list in /var/www/vhosts/myplacegympie.org/testing.myplacegympie.org/administrator/components/com_kunena/tmpl/categories/default.php on line 107PHP message: PHP Warning: Attempt to read property "Direction" on null in /var/www/vhosts/myplacegympie.org/testing.myplacegympie.org/administrator/components/com_kunena/tmpl/categories/default.php on line 107PHP message: PHP Warning: Undefined property: Kunena\\Forum\\Administrator\\View\\Categories\\HtmlView::$list in /var/www/vhosts/myplacegympie.org/testing.myplacegympie.org/administrator/components/com_kunena/tmpl/categories/default.php on line 115PHP message: PHP Warning: Attempt to read property "Ordering" on null in /var/www/vhosts/myplacegympie.org/testing.myplacegympie.org/administrator/components/com_kunena/tmpl/categories/default.php on line 115', referer: testing.myplacegympie.org/administrator/...nena&view=categories

Server is running PHP 8.1.22 in FPM on Apache. It is using the same settings as the ones posted in the original post above.

I am using Firefox browser with add blocker and JS blocker turned off. I have also tried using a open source Chromium browser with the same error message.

I just installed the language pack, just in case, and that made no difference to this issue.
