In the new update the handling of the checkbox is reversed! before the standard setting was NO for the automatic replies on the topic. The setting is still NO, howevre it works out as YES in the profiles.

The developers may be able to explain what they changed and why they changed the way things worked in an earlier version of Kunena. The information that you're probably looking for is contained in the three topics that I referred to above. As far as I am aware, there is no other documentation on this subject.
