Kunena 6.3.8 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.3.8 [K 6.3.8] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 4.4.x/5.0.x/5.1.x/5.2.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.3
Note: Please go to the Kunena Dashboard after an upgrade so that the Kunena database tables are also updated.

Topics must relate to a currently supported version of Kunena. If you are unsure what is the current supported version of Kunena, please go to the download page.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

Hi
I have an old joomla website (v.1.5.x) and I'm upgrading in the latest version (v.3.7).

I want to import all the Forum posts + users in the new website.

Actually I still have to install the new Kunena in the new website because I want to be sure to make the right steps.
I read the post: www.kunena.org/forum/installation-issues...to-a-new-site#182398
and as the end there are following steps to follow:

Install a clean Kunena
Remove again all Kunena tables
Import the old Kunena tables
Synchronisize all users and topics

My questions are:
1. are the above steps ok for migration?
2. Do you mean to delete ALL the Kunena tables? or some of them?
3. Do I have to export ALL the old Kunena tables? or some of them3
4. In the old Kunena I have only User Synchronization but not topics Synchronization

Regarding questions 2 and 3, my doubt if the structure of new Kunena is different, I could have problem to import old tables

Please could you help me?

Thank you

No, there are no the same steps. Which version of Kunena is the old version? Are the old Kunena database prefixes still jos_fb ?
This steps are correct for you: www.kunena.org/forum/k-4-0-installation-...na-2-0-4-to-4#176756

Important! Always create a backup before you make any changes to your website!

Hi
I don't think the steps are exactly indicated in the link you sent as I have seen the new Kunena version has different structure of some tables so I cannot replce them with the old ones.

In the meanwhile I did some tests:

1. export the old kunena tables (topics, categories, users)
2. Install the new kunena in the new website (Joomla 3.7)
3. backup the new db
4. import the old kunena tables in the new ones. For some of them is necessary to make some modification to adapt them to the new structure
5.assign proper user access level

In this way I have all the old topics in the new installation

The link is correct. Kunena recognizes the old tables and changes these to the new structure. Then you don't need modifications. But if it works with your steps, it's also ok.
