Kunena 6.2.6 released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.2.6 [K 6.2.6] which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 4.4.x/5.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.1 / K 6.2 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.2

Topics must relate to a currently supported version of Kunena. If you are unsure what is the current supported version of Kunena, please go to the download page.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

Hi

Just wondering if it's possible to create a hidden / secret topic that only selected users can view and contribute to?

An example would be the forum is only available to registered joomla users who have logged in, i.e. the staff of a business (not the public facing website). There are several hundred staff but what we want is for a manager to be able to create a new topic and then invite selected staff (registered users) to the topic. The topic would be hidden from view for everyone other than those who have been invited.

It is not possible to do it via usergroups as all users will be in the registered user (group) other than the manager who is a super admin.

There will only be one manager doing all this, but they will need around 50 private topics that they will control. However they need selected and invited users to be able to read / contribute to that topic only. If however a staff user has been invited to several topics, they can view / contribute into several. But those he is not invited to, are hidden from his view. There will be public topics, viewable to all registered users as well as the hidden topics.

Can this be done?

I'm sorry, there is no possibility, different topics to allow for different users. This works only with categories and user groups ( see here ).

You may want to have a look at Joomlapolis's Group Jive extension that offers some interesting access control and integrates well with Kunena.
