Please see the topic Gallery dropdown menu doesn't work . In particular, please read what I wrote:

sozzled wrote: The information in the Wiki ( How to add an other avatar gallery) is, unfortunately out-of-date and obsolete from K 1.6 on. It is regrettable that the information in the Wiki is not appropriate for K 2.0.

I do not know if it's possible to add secondary avatar galleries in K 2.0. Until I have received confirmation from the development team that secondary avatar galleries are supported in K 2.0 this topic will remain locked. We apologise if this causes you inconvenience but I am only working with the facts as I have been able to ascertain them.

I have asked the development team to look at the question. I have not yet received a reply. I will ask again.

Hello,

You need to create a new directory for your avatar gallery in : /media/kunena/avatars/gallery/

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

Thank you. I have now rewritten the Wiki article (which is called Additional avatar galleries ), merged this topic with the originally asked question, and unlocked the merged topic. I think this now resolves the question.

Thank you, xillibit.

Hi all :-)

I have the same problem.
I created a folder in

/media/kunena/avatars/gallery/

and placed inside the images.

In the front-end of Kunena, i can see the selection boxes with the new gallery,
but when I go to select you refresh the page, change the card and when I go to re-select the tab "avatar image" is again the main gallery and not in new gallery.

Tested on two different forums

is there any way to solve?
Or need to wait an update from the developers?

In advance thank you for your answers :-)

G'day, dapinna and welcome to Kunena.

I am not sure what is the problem here. There is no problem that requires fixing. As xillibit wrote earlier (and I updated the Wiki to use this information), we now know that the ability to create additional avatars works in K 2.0.

This is what you need to do:

(1) create a sub-folder within ../media/kunena/avatars/gallery/
(2) make sure that the sub-folder has the same permissions as the parent folder
(3) upload images into the sub-folder

If this does not work for you then it requires more information from you to help us to understand better the problem. It would help to see your configuration report and, perhaps, have a test account on your site to see what it is that you are trying to describe.

the 3 steps were performed exactly as described

in particular, I created a folder called "test" ("test in Italian) and then call in full:

../media/Kunena/avatars/gallery/test

If this does not work for you then it requires more information from you to help us to understand better the problem. It would help to see your configuration report and, perhaps, have a test account on your site to see what it is that you are trying to describe.

I should add that I also tried to change the permissions of the folders and files to 755 but to 777, without solving the problem.

The problem I am experiencing on two different websites, both with Joomla 2.5.7 Kunena 2.0.2 and both have recently updated by Kunena 1.7.2

The provider that hosts the two websites is different.
