Kunena 7.0.5 & Kunena 6.4.11 – Security Updates Released
The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.
The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.
Question Kunena issue: causes Joomla smart search to crash (not just on my site)

Is this what you are referring to?
Similar result when I went to another site ( revistafisicoyfitness.com ) and I entered "much improved" in the search keywords field. I do not understand what kind of browser crash I am expecting to get.

To be clear:
Go to www.musictheory.dk . In the top search field at the site (just above the menu) search for "link test" - in quotationmarks (Important). What happens?
I've checked in 3 different browsers on both PC and Mac - all browsers crashes. Same when I tested two other websites. The problem is only caused in Joomla Smart Search when Kunena is installed - and only if you search in quotation marks and there are results, and only if 'Highlight search results' is set to yes in Joomla.
So I believe this is a bug in Kunena.

So may have a problem about the Joomla Smart Search? Did you read the important notice at the top of this page? This is the Kunena forum; this is not a forum for Joomla support.Grubbe wrote: Sorry for being unclear. I did not talk about the Kunena search, I talked about the Joomla Site Search.
It's possible that Kunena causes issues with Joomla Smart Search but I do not know too much about this. From what I saw, however, it looks like you may have PHP magic_quotes_gpc setting off (instead of on) which is a hosting issue - something you need to discuss with your webhost.
The website at revistafisicoyfitness.com is really slow - Kunena page load times of 4+ seconds - which indicates that your site must be doing a lot of additional processing in order to render the pages. The problems could be related to the t3-assets template that you are using. Whatever is happening, both sites exhibit signs of Javascript issues and I don't know what are the exact causes of these in the two examples you have offered.
Perhaps someone else who is using the Joomla Smart Search feature can confirm this to be a bug/defect; I do not know how Kunena is involved in this matter.

This may depend on where the problem resides. It could be a problem in the way PHP is configured at your site, the way you have configured Kunena, a problem with Joomla Smart Search or Javascript. Is there an easy way to fix this problem

Yes, this is as problem with the Joomla Smart Search. The reason for posting this question in the Kunena forum is that, I believe it's a bug/script in Kunena causing this problem to occur.
If I uninstall Kunena at my site, the problem disappears. FireFox say (as I've written before) that it's some kind of JavaScript causing this problem.
My site is:
musictheory.dk
The website:
revistafisicoyfitness.com
is just a random site I found via Google, to let you see that this is a common problem. This website is not my site.
Regarding a solution:
I haven't changed any configuration options in Kunena as well as in Smart Search. It's all standard configuration. I hope as you say, that this is a hosting issue - I will change my host in a couple of months (decided long before this issue occurred), so maybe the issue will be gone at then.
Thanks for your help
Lasse
