Kunena 7.0.5 & Kunena 6.4.11 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

K 2.0 support will cease on 31 August 2013 and this section of the forum will be closed and archived after that time and no further questions will be answered about this version.

I noticed a significant increase in performance when upgrading to 2.0!

I had to rebuild my site template, which took me the better part of the evening. But after I finally got that done and could sit back and enjoy Kunena, I was very pleased.

*Thumbs up!*

I really like the speed increase as well. I gave a nice donation last night because of it. I had a few features stop working though , I'm really hoping support or someone can help me fix them so I can get the forum back to fully operational status as before soon(or I may have to revert back to Kunena 1.7.. :(. Any help appreciated with these two:

1. Jawards integration is successful, except for the images don't display. Something is different about the Kunena code or path so it's not successfully pulling the images from the image folder (the images link to their awards from their Profile tab successfully, it's only the image itself doesn't show).

I think it's this code: src=\"".KUNENA_JLIVEURL."/images/medals/".$med->image ."\" alt=\"".$med->name."\" />"

Can anyone tell me what has changed with Kunena 2.0 that could perhaps cause the image not display error?

Previously this was controlled by the profile.vertical.php at

components/com_kunena/template/default/view/profile.vertical.php

and in Kunena 2.0 this file path was moved to:

/components/com_kunena/template/blue_eagle/html/topic/default_profile_vertical.php

The other thing is categories that only Moderators and above can post in only aren't shown when a regular Registered user clicks on the main New Topics menu item. This is bad, because it causes a lot of users to click on this Menu Item, thinking it will post a reply to the topic they're currently viewing by mistake. It's nice to have that error message language that was present in previous versions there. Many users will post in the wrong category by mistake (whatever that default category may be), unless I make a Moderator and above only category as the first option (so it's the default). It would be nice to use the Site Announcements or other Moderator and above as the default here, as at least it will stop that and present a custom error message language to them, letting them know they are posting in the wrong cateogry (it really makes Forum Moderation a lot easier as it solves 95 percent of posts being placed in the wrong category).

Could someone tell me how to remove this code that was added to Kunena 2.0 that only shows categories they can post in only? Although it seems like an improvement on the surface, it actually causes more posts to be placed in wrong categories.

Please disregard the Jawards integration question, TKtemp helped me while I was posting this.. :).

I just need help with the "New Topics" menu item ,showing Moderator and above category as the default. I would like to remove what was added to 2.0, (and show a category they're not authorized to post in as the default like in pervious versions) as it really helps prevent users from posting in the wrong categories.. This is why:
