Kunena 7.0.5 & Kunena 6.4.11 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

K 2.0 support will cease on 31 August 2013 and this section of the forum will be closed and archived after that time and no further questions will be answered about this version.

Can anyone tell me which is faster? My Kunena forum and my Adsmanager Classifieds are the most popular components on my website, however my forum is the slowest in speed. I'm curious does Kunena 2.0 speed things up or is it more resource intenstive and may be slower?

the Kunena forum is generated in Time to create page: 0.137 seconds

My forum is generated in Time to create page: 0.351 seconds


The speed is related to the "BHP" of your server and also the internet connection (when it comes down to downloding large image files)

Yes, the forum here is pretty fast. I use Hostgator, however I could need to upgrade that too in the future. My current Kunena 1.7 installation takes 1 to 2 seconds to load on average. I wonder if I upgrade to Kunena 2.0 would that be faster or slower? Or is 2.0 the same speed and efficiency? My current Kunena 1.7 install works fine, however I may want to upgrade it if speed is improved with it?

when i moved from 1.7 to 2.0 i have seen a drop in loading time from 0.8 to 0.35 so for me K 2.0 is faster.

If you want to future proof your forum move to a server with SSD. i dont realy like hostgator because it usually makes 13+ jumps till it gets to my website.

I just wanted to say special thanks to the Kunena team, you've really did a great job with Kunena 2.0! The speed improvement is amazing!!! My forum is twice as fast now and all the features are there..

My category icon customizations and many other file hacks weren't overwritten, so it was a very easy upgrade for me! Wish I would of done it earlier.. :).


I would like to submit a donation, can anyone tell me where to submit those to?
