Kunena 7.0.5 & Kunena 6.4.11 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

K 2.0 support will cease on 31 August 2013 and this section of the forum will be closed and archived after that time and no further questions will be answered about this version.

Not really. When I visit your site, the menu is different to what I expect to see. Your menu may work but I'm not sure it does. Did you see the video in The Kunena Menu ?

The message "administrator has disabled write access" means exactly that. You have a forum category (or categories) that you have not allowed people to create new topics or reply to topics. Check the category permissions (the permissions tab) in the Kunena Category Manager.

The Kunena template you are using is wrong for K 2.x. That template is out-of-date and, as far as I know, it has not worked properly since K 1.6.2. If you have problems with the Cridin template, please contact the person who wrote it; alternatively, use the Blue Eagle template or find another template that works with K 2.x.

I hope these suggestions help. :)

I am sure that for SEO, repeated thousands of times, one and the same phrase - it's not very good.
Google may not be able to determine the right keywords for your website. For example you make a forum about turtles, and Google will think that your board is about administrators.

Hi
I have the same issue plus some more:
1)No mater how I change the permissions, even yes to "Allow Guests to Post/Write", I can't get rid of the (Unless I turn the user, logged in, to global moderator. And when I change it back, the online user turns Offline, still logged in):
The administrator has disabled public write access.
You cannot reply to this topic.
You do not have permissions to start a new topic!
2) I am testing it as to different users, with the same result. One of them shows OnLine and another one OffLine, under the avatar, no idea why.
Joomla 2.5, Kunena 2.0.3., Blue Eagle 2.0
Any help is appreciated.
Regards Xux

G'day, Xuxux, and welcome to Kunena.

If you post your Kunena configuration report, this community will be better placed to see why you may be having the problems that you are having.

Do you have these problems, too, in the original "Welcome Mat" category on your forum?

G'day, BartG, and welcome to Kunena

These are your Kunena integration settings (extracted from your configuration report earlier):

Kunena - AlphaUserPoints Enabled: activity=1 avatar=1 profile=1 activity_points_limit=0
Kunena - Community Builder Enabled: access=1 login=1 activity=1 avatar=1 profile=1 private=1
Kunena - Gravatar Enabled: login=1
Kunena - JomSocial Enabled: access=1 login=1 activity=1 login=1 profile=1 private=1 activity_points_limit=0 activity_stream_limit=0
Kunena - Joomla Enabled: access=1 login=1
Kunena - Kunena Enabled: avatar=1 profile=1
Kunena - UddeIM Enabled: private=1

I have highlighted in different colours the three areas that seem (to me) to conflict.

Your configuration report shows that you do not have JomSocial, Community Builder, AlphaUserPoints or uddeIM software installed on your site. See Forum integration with other Joomla extensions and reset these plugin settings back to their original, default, values. In other words, disable all these plugins except for the Kunena - Kunena and Kunena - Joomla plugins.
