Kunena 7.0.4 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

If you are having problems then, for your own benefit, it would save us all a lot of time if you would kindly post your configuration report when you ask for help from this forum. If you do not post your configuration report we will not ask you for it but you will probably not get your problem solved, either.

K 2.0 support will cease on 31 August 2013 and this section of the forum will be closed and archived after that time and no further questions will be answered about this version.

Merged Why is there no "who is currently viewing topic" facility in K 2.0?

Actually, the tool was useless and we received so many complaints that it was decided it was better to completely remove the feature altogether. If people complain enough about things then we listen to those complaints. If other people thought it was better to keep the tool (even though it never properly worked) you should have said something a long time ago.

So, for all those people who thought that the feature was useless, we can give you a list of people you can blame for removing it. ;)

I don't see that many complaints. And people that did like and use it are usually not reacting on those topics. Our mods now are complaining that they don't see it anymore. Was a really usefull feature especially on questions that needed further investigation. A mod could see that someone else (problably with more knowledge of the issue) was watching the topic and then could let that mod handle the question.

So please: if possible, put it back in a next release!

I also think it is a usefull tool by the reason pinkeltje explained.

We cannot win here. We could not make people understand that the feature needs Joomla to be fixed. People continued to say "no, it's not a Joomla problem; it's a Kunena problem." Well, all those so-called experts really did not understand that there is a big problem in Joomla and the information used by Kunena is totally based on what Joomla says. So, if Joomla is wrong, Kunena is wrong.

If someone knows how to fix Joomla, then we will put the feature back again. Until Joomla is fixed, the information is unreliable, misleading or just plain wrong.

We cannot please everyone. We cannot please those who complained enough that we had to remove the feature. Now, it seems, we cannot please those who what a defective feature re-instated. So, we cannot please anyone and that my final word on the subject.

I think that @sozzled was talking about another feature, which was online guest count being too high.

The feature where you could see -- page to page -- where users were was very old code in Kunena and it had a few security issues as well as it wasn't even displaying the correct information.

The feature could come back at some time as configurable feature, but currently I would like to get some more important features done -- those which will make forum easier to use, especially for moderators.
