In the emoticon manager I see this:

In the frontend I see this:

In 1.7.2 I had my own template with animated emoticons, and I haven't moved that to 2.0 yet, not sure if that can affect this?

Its probably your custom emoticons. Please copy those to /media/kunena/emoticons after upgrading to K2.0.1 (should be out in few days).

Ok, do I understand you right, that it will work only after 2.0.1? :-)
And this is /media under joomla, and not /administrator/components/com_kunena/media, right?

Yes, under media. I'm not sure if it works now, you can try.. Another possibility is to create new template with new icons in it.

Where do I find an explanation about hot to create the template?
I would like to create my own, based on bluebird, like I did for 1.7.
But I'm unsure as to how, the only dog I have is for at 1.7 template.
Oh, it would be nice with a tool for building a template, I know, it just luxury, but nevertheless :-)
