Question Phantom message stuck in Recent Discussions tab.

Hi,

I am using Kunena 1.0.8 with Joomla 1.5.9 on a PHP5.1.6 remote server. While playing with Kunena I set up test forums and made test posts using test user accounts. I deleted the test user account and the test messages, but I am stuck with one test message in the Recent Discussions tab. No matter what I do, I can not get rid of this message! I have even uninstalled Kunena and dropped all the Kunena related tables from the database - yet when I reinstall Kunena... back comes my phantom message in the Recent Discussions tab! Clicking on the message goes not take me to the message, but (after a long delay) to an unformatted page (no template in evidence.)

Can anyone suggest a way of expunging this pestilent message?!

Did you have FireBoard installed?

No - Kunena is the first forum package I have used. I am, however, also using Community Builder 1.2 which may include some elements of (for integration purposes) of Fireboard. I can't remember whether or not these components were published or not at the time.

Does it not work, when you go to your databse and delete this message in the tables:
jos_fb_messages and jos_fb_messages_text?

At first guess it sounds like you didn't get all teh DB tables dropped. Don't see how this would be possible otherwise.

That's what I thought too, but I checked the db and all fb_ tables were indeed gone. I have just now looked into each of the new tables and there are zero rows in all of them - i.e. no data at all.

The odd thing is, when I reinstalled Kunena (and this happened with GroupJive also) the tables did not get re-created in the database, yet the forum appeared to work just fine (I could post/edit/delete messages!) and the phantom message still appeared in Recent Discussions. I later imported the fb_ tables into the on-line database from my laptop, but these tables do not appear to be being used. When I post a message, it does not show up in the db! Kunena appears to be storing its data in a set of invisible tables!

I'm stumped!
