doubt it, it has never been a joomla option to open components in a new window;) if you want it to open in a new windw, make your joomla links as external url, to open in new, and use forum URL...

I've just tried what you suggested.... Doesn't seem to work!:(

Pointed the menu link to the "index.php" file of the kunena forum and got the message "direct access to this page not allowed"

Then tried the url used if using as a component ie www.woodcutterscc.com/joomla/index.php?o...com_kunena&Itemid=60

This brings up a new window but has all my joomla menus included...

I'm wanting my forum to appear without my joomla related items displayed

Any other suggestions?

you can't use direct access that is not called from joomla itself, so you need to use full url

that's it www.woodblablabla ;)

If you want your forum alone, you must go into each module, and configure it not to apperar when yuour forum is appearing :)

On your site.

I click on the forum link-FireBoard. It does NOT open in a new window.

I click the forum 2 link-Kunena. It opens everything in a new window.

I was going to suggest that since you had FB working the way you wanted you can duplicate the procedure with Kunena since what you want to do is a Joomla function-not a Kunena one. But since I don't see that...

Your template is the very old default one that came with Joomla. NOT very flexible at all. My first suggestion would be to get a more robust template. There are many template that are free that might be to your liking. Here is one location.

I've assigned a basic style template which does the job!!!

Thanks for your help though...

Just need to change the banner to include our logo top get back to the site and I'm nearly sorted...

I've noticed though that some icons don't appear?? like "recent posts", and "online status" etc...

Still some work to be done.... :(
