For those who would like to know what genuine problems have been discovered with Kunena 1.0.10 (Build 1344) and what you need to do, but who don't have the time to search the forums themselves, and because the moderators are unable to keep the official list up-to-date quickly enough:

K 1.0.10 works! ... and it's great! There are only a couple of genuine defects in K 1.0.10. Most of the problems that users have had is because of conflicts or dependencies on other components. There were major changes done to the Kunena CSS templates; because of this, customised templates designed for earlier versions of Kunena will probably fail. Beginners should stick to the basics first: use the default_ex or default template that shipped with the K 1.0.10 installation kit.

If you use Community Builder: Kunena 1.0.10 needs CB 1.2.1! and you must "publish" the cbsimpleboardtab plugin. If you do not upgade Community Builder (even if you don't intend to integrate CB with Kunena) Kunena will not work. If you don't already use Community Builder then this requirement doesn't apply.

If you use Artio JoomSEF: see Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class CKunenaConfig .

The forum search does not work properly - causes error Warning: mb_substr() [function.mb-substr]: Unknown encoding "" in components/com_kunena/class.kunena.php on line 1292. Fix here .

Cannot Edit CSS from Kunena Control Panel. This shouldn't be a major problem because most people use other tools (like Windows Notepad) to edit CSS files.

Quick Reply button deactivated is related related to other Internet Explorer client-side javascript errors.

Thanks sozzled for your efforts, but be sure- our moderators do their work and report every bug to the development team. And I suspect, that users will get their informations quicker with your post - all bugs are reported somewhere in forum, and if they use the search function, they will find it, like they will find your post too.

And the moderators build Sticky posts with Solved bugs in every Kunena version xxx forum. But perhaps they forgot some, may be ...

Sozzled, please be so good and put it into Kunena Documentation / Wiki under Troubleshooting docs.kunena.com/index.php/Category:Troubleshooting .

That is a very good place for it..... thank you!

There's an unsolved defect in K 1.0.10's new message boardcode handler (reported as Fatal error on one thread ).

Symptom:
Attempt to read a message thread results in
"Fatal error: Allowed memory size of n bytes exhausted (tried to allocate m bytes) in ..\components\com_kunena\lib\kunena.parser.base.php on line 209"

Cause:
Message in the thread ends in a left square bracket.

Consequences:
Users can sabotage K 1.0.10 forum sites.

Workaround:
Locate the offending message record in the Kunena database (in the table jos_fb_messages) and either delete the record or change it by putting a right square bracket after the left square bracket.
