Perhaps a stupid question but, this got me stumped... My question is about 'Public Access Level choices' in 'Forum advanced configuration'. The available choices are:

Everybody: Open to public, no security
All Registered
- Registered
- Author
- Editor
- Publisher

1. What is the difference between 'All Registered' and 'Registered'? I configured two forums with these settings and could not see any different behavior on front-end.

2. A user who belongs to 'author' usergroup cannot view forums designated with 'Registered' access level. But, he can view articles with access level of 'Registered' in Joomla front-end. Am I missing some setup here because I will expect consistent behavior.

Thanks
Sean

1. I believe that you can restrict forum to be Authors only, meaning that Editors and Publishers cannot see it.

2. Set "Include Child Groups" = yes.

I know.. This is something I would like to change soon.. :)
