What version of Joomla and Kunena are you using, please? :)

Does the discussion Can't create catagories (sic) help in any way?

Hi,
after downgrading to 1.0.9, it worked, ya. And 2 of the posts made while 1.5 was installed still existed. IS there a way to purge those? If I click on them, they yield errors and don't work anyway. I realise I could delete the tables in DB but.. It's not my site, it's my friends, and I don't know if he's got phpmyadmin installed or what.. and can't really access the server directly.

"Downgrading" is a difficult-to-answer situation for me because I haven't seen an official guide to how to downgrade Kunena 1.5.0a to K 1.0.9.

This is just my opinion but, from what I've read in these forums, it appears that, in order to perform a clean, working Kunena 1.0.9 installation after having gone down the K 1.5.0a path, you not only need to uninstall K 1.5.0a you also need to DROP all SQL tables that begin with fb_ ... and (obviously) then install K 1.0.9.

I have suggested that someone (from the developer team) posts an official "how to undo K 1.5.0a" guide. Until that guide appears, there's nothing that I can suggest. I have no personal experience of K 1.5.0a - I wouldn't know what to do with it, I'm not sufficiently qualified nor do I have enough hours in the day to be an alpha software tester - because I'm just an "ordinary user" like you.

Did you try, to prune them with the Kunena Backend feature: prune Database..... delete datas older than.. .. ?

No, for downgrading (or upgrading) you never have to drop your database too. If you want a fresh restart without any old datas, then of course, you have to delete the tables, but this is something, what you must do in every other installations / softwares too.

You can down- or upgrade withouth thinking about database (normally, expect of course, that you ALWAYS should make a backup before any changing).. The only difference when you downgrade: In Backend is still the notice, that you have 1.5.0 installed... but all of the other files were changed correctly.
