control user accounts was created by bonk
I needs some finer grained forum user control. Can kunena do the following? If so, how?
1) I would like to moderate the user account creation. So when a person wants to become a member/user of the forum he has to request it via Mail. The admin will the grant access somehow.
2) I want that certain users cannot read/see some subforums while other user can.
3) I want that certain users cannot post in some subforums while others can. But they all should be able to read the subforum.
4) Can I synchronize my Joomla Users with my Kunena Users. So that when a person has a Account for the Joomla-based Site he doesn't have to have an extra Kunena Forum Account and doesn't have to login twice?

- Kunena doesn't perform any user account creation. If your users want moderator privileges then let them ask the administrator in the usual [e-mail] manner.
- You can regulate public access to your forums in the current version of Kunena.
- You can regulate the ability to post to your forums but only on the basis of the standard Joomla user types, for example Registered, Author, Editor, Publisher, etc.
- Kunena users are synchronised with Joomla users, not the other way around. Kunena doesn't have a separate login function. Users of your forum are logged-in via the login module in use at your website. Forum users shouldn't need to login twice unless your forum area is not contained within your website.

I don't understand this then: A user just created an account using the "register" link (index.php?option=com_user&task=register&Itemid=3). He was able to create and confirm the creation of the account via mail all by himselft without allwoing me (the site adminstrator) to grant or deny the creation of the user account beforehand. He then had a forum account but did not have a site account. So there was no connection between site acocunts and forum accounts as it seems. He could also post and reply in the forums.
EDIT: oh, now I get it. Sorry I am a total noob. That register link in the forum actually makes joomla create a joomla account. SO I guess I have to read the joomla docs how to intercept the automatic user account creation as admin. Any hint?

Well, there's an option in joomla general configuration there's an option that says, automatic activation for new users... that you can put to yes or not...
