Question Turning off Karma?

With the Kunena forums how does the Admin turn off the Karma option to avoid it being abused?

Have you checked the configuration on the back end?

Joomla backend:

Components >> Kunena forum >> Configuration >> user related >> show karma indicator = no

I checked the docs section of the site but could not find much about admin options other than: docs.kunena.com/index.php/Configuration which did not have anything about Karma.

When I wrote the hints that became the basis for docs.kunena.com/index.php/Configuration it was my intention to address what, in my opinion, were the important things to help people who have problems they may not understand. There are three absolutely critical parameters whose settings, if not used right, will result in websites looking like a dog's breakfast.

Karma is not a critical setting; isn't even an important setting. It's a setting. One of my jobs is to help with writing the documentation. I would like to see a discussion about all Kunena settings not just the handful I selected for docs.kunena.com/index.php/Configuration .

The first thing, for all beginners, is to become familiar with the Kunena configuration tool which already provides some basic instruction (including how to turn on/off the karma feature).

EDIT: By the way, I agree with you about the abuse of the karma system. I used to have twice as much karma as I've currently got. You'll also find people who have only posted two or three messages and they've got dozens of karma points. Go figure! :blink:
