Kunena 7.0.4 Released
The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0
Question Custom change requested: real names in list of moderators
I must show moderators "real" names. There is an option in Kunena configuration to user select "Yes" for use username and I have set it to "NO", but I don't believe that has anything to do with moderators.
I really appreciate any help you can provide. I have high-profile moderators and need to display their real names for PR purposes.
Thanks again! FYI - EXCELLENT PRODUCT. Always has been.
Kirby.

If you want users to show their username and moderators their real name, it may be confusing to your users (sending PM, for example). I would stick on showing the same field for everyone -- but if you really need to have real name shown, the best option may be to show a new field for it.
If you don't want a hack, you can always ask them to write their name into the first field of My Profile / My Profile Info.

When someone logs into the site, their "real name" is displayed.
However, when you go to the forums, their "user name" is displayed. Also, forum moderators "user names" are displayed. This is a problem.
So my question/requirement is -> I need "REAL NAMES" to display and not user names as Kunena is currently doing on our site.
Thanks for any help.

Yes, that may be so, but it has nothing to do with Kunena; it's a Joomla or a third-party component (like Community Builder) doing that as part of the login function. When someone logs into the site, their "real name" is displayed.

Yes, it may be a problem for you but it may also be something you won't necessarily overcome as immediately as you might like. If this is as urgent as you say then you have to demonstrate a commitment to put a concerted effort into finding a solution ... and be prepared that it may not be an entirely satisfactory one. However, when you go to the forums, their "user name" is displayed. Also, forum moderators "user names" are displayed. This is a problem.

Without any detailed analysis (because of the urgency of the request), my initial response is "what is wrong with setting the Kunena configuration parameter Username = no"? As Matias stated, that "option is for all users". Contrary to your initial assumptions ( #11918 ) this option applies equally to moderators and other users alike; I've tested this exhaustively. So my question/requirement is -> I need "REAL NAMES" to display and not user names as Kunena is currently doing on our site.
Are you asking if it's possible that your moderators' real names are displayed but your other users' usernames are displayed instead? Is that what you want?
I have about a dozen other suggestions I could make that might help you; however, as this matter has lingered for nearly 2 days, I think it's lost a lot of its initial immediacy.

Hi,
Please set the User Name parameter in the Kunena configuration to no, save the configuration and Update/Recalculate the forum statistics.
All posts should now show real names, including the moderators.
Always recalculate the forum statistics, as that will update the name information stored within the posts.
Hope this helps!
