Replied by texasjin on topic allow guest to read a category, but only specific user group can write
Currently, if I set a category public access to a specific usergroup (child of registered user), guest can't read anymore.
How about using a special URL link (encoding with a token information for example?), thus my invited guest with this link can access this category as guest? Sure, the ultimate goal is to use the preview to attract them to register.

cengznucel: Your question has been here asked before.
Forum ranks do not imply additional forum privileges; forum ranks are a purely notional concept of forum activity but "higher" ranks do not give your users different permissions in the forum.

Hello, I have question I wasn't able to find anywhere:
1. How can I set access rights to certain category in forum, different for read and write for different usergroups.
For example there is category C1 which is visible only for users from group G1 but they cannot post there. Only users from G2 are able to post there.

redford: Your question has been here asked before.
With K 1.7.2 it is not possible to assign different read vs. write access. We hope that this will be achievable in a future version of Kunena.

This topic of ACLs, has been requested since Kunena 1.5. We were informed it would be here in 1.6, now it is at 1.7.2 and still no joy. Is it even on the to do list?

Hi;
Thanks for your time, Can KUNENA let an admin setup Cat's , Forums, and Topics and 'lock them down' to that level' meaning no new topics or forums can be created by the registered public, BUT registered users can participate within the various topics set by me (admin)? AND moderated where a message is displayed to the poster that their entry has been submitted for review? In other words I want to create a static tree with only the lowest level can accept posts. ALSO can you have SUB-Topics with the same locking feature as fare as their existence goes, but registered users can participate within them?
Thanks, Frank
