Is there any way to restrict who can create new topics in a forum but then allow all users to be able to post to those topics.

Basically I want to control the initial topics but then allow anyone to post replies to these.

Regards Alan.

No, not in Kunena 1.6/7. It will be possible in Kunena 2.0, which has much better control on actions.

OK, thanks for the speedy response.

Any ideas on rough time-scales for the v2.0 release?

I just gave an answer in another topic. I'm hoping to get first beta out in 2-3 weeks. Of course it may never happen, but.. :)

See #243 . The same questions keep recurring. Let's try to keep them together.

Is it possible to create a forum where only a certain access level (or even just moderators or admins) can start new topics, but any registered user can reply in a topic once it's already created?

I have a forum that has topics that have polls, but only moderators should have the permission to create those topics. Any member should be able to comment and discuss, once that topic is created, however.

I'm not seeing a way to do this.
