Could we please get some accurate, simple, and detailed information on how to use and install this plugin? A video would be perfect.
I've search the net and haven't found anything yet that covers this plugin.
one thing i'm really unclear on is

I'd like it to create a topic as soon as the article is published.

G'day, N6REJ, and thank you for your very good question and excellent suggestion.

I agree with you. The current "instructions" are not very clear and this is a task that I would like to become more involved with if we had more people who could assist us with the day-to-day running of the forum, the testing, the research, the development and - last but by no means least - the documentation. Of course you will appreciate that it takes time to produce a video. The last 90-second video that I produced (scripted, directed and "starred" in, I might add) took me 3½ hours. Yes, a video (or a video library) would be perfect ... but these things take time and I only have one pair of hands and a limited amount of time in my day to do these things.

It's also a question of priorities, too. At the present moment I have slightly different prioritites as far as documenting things is concerned. On the other hand, of course, if someone were to entice me with the offer of a little pay-dirt, how quickly you would see my priorities change.

Yes, you're right. We need better documentation not just about Kunena Discuss but about a lot of issues. We also need more people who are prepared to volunteer their time to assist the Kunena project in the ways I have mentioned above. I think a lot of people forget that our involvement here is voluntary. Our only compensation is your enjoyment. B)

as someone on JBS, and who has written a few measly extensions, and created tut video's myself, I can totally relate to the huge amount of time it takes to make a good one. Sadly not just in the recording for that is probably the briefest portion, but in all the editing, clipping, notating, etc that is required AFTER the raw video is shot.
I'm sure that had I not edited out my coughs, commentary blunders, mis-clicks, mumblings, i'd have a video that was not only overly long, but 1/10th as good.
the primary reason I don't volunteer myself to do this, is due to the high-quality and thoroughness of Kunena's code I'm completely lost as to thoroughly understanding all that it does. I'm relatively new to the project and really just barely have my feet wet.

I was able ( i think ) to get it to create a topic, but I"m not at all clear on what the "create topic on " param does.

lastly I would like to have one kcategory that's is "default" and another that is only for one specific Jcategory. I'm not at all sure that listing the topic for the singular category will allow the default to be used for everything else but we'll c.

@xill i read the thread you mentioned and did not find anything more then what is contained in the tooltips.

That was my point, too. I agree with you; the documentation is poor. Someone has to make a start ... but it sure as hell doesn't have to be me.

Yes, you understand why it takes 3½ hours to produce a video. It's not just the preparation of the materials, the scripting, directing, narration and editing of the raw footage ... there's also the rendering in an internet playable format, uploading (storage) and then linking the information to a place where other people can access it.

The problem that I have with this subject is, although I'm not too bad when it comes to technical writing, I have not used the Kunena Discuss plugin myself - I've been too busy with all the other housekeeping that goes on behind the scenes - and I don't know how it works, either! If someone could post a rough guide to how to use the Kunena Discuss plugin then we'd all benefit. I don't have the time to learn how to use it at the moment, I'm sorry to say ... although, as I mentioned, if someone would like to pay me for my time, I can always rearrange my schedule!

I totally understand. At this moment even paying is not an option for me...
one thing perhaps someone could answer is why an article that pre-exists doesn't create a topic when viewed OR edited. Here is how I have things currently.

The notated category is "latest news" with everything else going to another kcategory.
