Replied by PIC on topic Kunena cannot upload videos?
My site is using Jomsocial, and it seems that Kunena is the forum of choice and has integration for it.

But really, can Kunena not upload videos? Users don't want to have to spend the time uploading to a 3rd party site and then embedding.

Is it possible to use jomsocial's built in video upload feature?

Please help, this is not acceptable, most forums can upload videos.

To be honost....on most site's you can't upload videos....and there are 2 really good reasons for that:

- Videos are large files....it will fill up your server space really fast
- Playing videos consumes lots of bandwith...

Uploading video's to your own site just costs too much....

(Free unlimited hosters will not allow you to host a site with lots of video's and use of excessive bandwith)

I understand, but at the same time Jomsocial allows vid uploads, and using amazon storage makes it cheap(like 9 cents per gb).

Most users would not be uploading, but a few will want to.

I tried using the video button in the editor, and it put in in the message but the video does not do anything or appear. Is there something else tat I need to do to allow videos to be imbedded?

There are security issues involving the technique as you have described. Those issues are discussed in this topic. I hope some of the posts here will explain things for you and suggest other ways that you can post videos in Kunena.
