I'd like to upgrade to this new version from my present 1.5.6. My one concern is that I made some color changes to the CSS file and not exactly sure where those color changes are.

If I install 1.5.8 I will need to hunt down the places where the new color hex codes need to be placed and this will take some time and work.

Is it possible for me to do a global copy of the entire css file in my 1.5.6 and then paste it into the css file in 1.5.8? If i can simplify this process, I can get the upgrade done much faster. Thank you!

Sincerely,
Howard

Go to the Winmerge , download it and then try to compare your css file with the new one from kunena 1.5.8.

What is WInmerge?

WinMerge can compare both folders and files, presenting differences in a visual text format that is easy to understand and handle.

Seems to be that you can use your old CSS file.

There are just 2 minor fixes between 1.5.6 and 1.5.8 CSS file (default-ex template)
New line 987 (in #Kunena .fb_leftcolumn )
Code:
vertical-align: top;

And in line 1293 there is a little more detail.
1.5.6 Default-ex CSS line 1293:
Code:
#Kunena .fb_teammember { padding:7px 10px 7px 10px; border-bottom:1px solid #dddddd; list-style: inside;margin:0;}

1.5.8 Default-ex CSS line 1293:
Code:
#Kunena .fb_teammember { padding:7px 10px 7px 10px; border-bottom:1px solid #dddddd; list-style: inside;margin:0;background:transparent none;}

G'day everyone and Happy New Year. :cheer:

I haven't posted in a while - I've been quite busy on a half-dozen pet projects (including building a couple of new websites and overhauling several others) as well as catching up with a few former classmates from school whom I haven't had contact with for over 40 years! :ohmy:

First of all, Kunena continues to get better and better and my thanks to the terrific dedication of everyone here who's helped.

One thing about the new K 1.5.8 that has puzzled me is the removal of the version number in the credits. When I was spending a lot of time helping out with user problems, I found this version information especially useful. Most user requests usually start with "My Kunena doesn't work" and that's the extent of the information they provide. After begging them to provide more information, they swear that they're using the "latest" version of Kunena (whatever that means) but when you visit their website the version information doesn't match what they say. I'm not suggesting that users are ignorant, unwilling or unable to help themselves; however, the more information that the "system" can provide the better possibility others (who may have more technical know-how) can assist ... if we know where to look.

So, while there might be aesthetic reasons for removing the version information from the latest version's credit list - I can't understand what other reasons warranted the change - I wonder whether it's perhaps short-sighted from a support point-of-view. Just my opinion. ;)
