@ klp29:

You can forget those texts in BoJ forum as they were just some quick placeholders in our site before we went into public. Unfortunately as BoJ closed the FireBoard forums on late December we were forced to radically change our plans (we had no intention to make a fork), to publish the first beta release and to open our site for the community. Those were done in very short time and -- we forgot to change those texts.

So there is no revolution -- for now. Oops, there may be one for you: your site is quite slow and sluggish, eh? ;)

I find a forum that coan compete with majors like smf, phpbb or ipb but inside joomla, is a revolution, and these are our plans...

your vision may difere and maybe you are looking for flashy templates, and nifty semi broken features...

We're not on that track, our first priority are basements, painting can come anytime... our first priority is to create a great base from where to work... and that is what we're doing.

Obviously we're pretty ambicious in our plans, but rome wasn't build in one day, these basements may be the hardest part of all, creating new ways of work to facilitate not only our work, but also other extensions creators, admins and also users, takes time... fixing the immense amount of a system as patched as fireboard was (we've fixed over 200+ bugs between 1.0.4 (1.0.5 is fxstein alone work btw, so I consider it prekunena too) and the upcoming 1.0.8...

I'm sorry, but the things you're requesting, are just aesthetic for me, and some are even done already ;)... more than a image? I don't want that on my site, there are hundreds of free hosts to suck my bandwidth... automatic resize? we do that already...

And revolution, doesn't only has to be related on what the forum does, for me is more related, to how we work for it to do it... not only for the foundations we're talking about, but the way we work, with a 2 ways communication with you, having an open SVN where everybody can participate and see the latest changes... I feel kunena is GPL philosophy 200%, and for me that is a revolution compared to fireboard ;)

The way i see their daily progress is great, getting it to work in joomla 1.5x native is already a big advantage compare to FB and iron out all the bugs and making run faster. Other addin like poll, attach multi images, files will come when the community get bigger. Looking forward to the coming 1.1

I have nothing to add to this statement.

What you guys are doing here, is - among other attributes - very clever. I think you have set your goals fitting in perfect oder to the needs of those, who have been waiting too long for a reliable and lasting board-solution inside Joomla! ...

... ones like me :)

Thanks a lot and keep pushing ;)

I also really look forward to the native release - and just to sum up a few of the points above:

1. As we have 270.000+ posts with a lot of pictures, and 17.000+ users, yes, our site will REALLY benefit from any enhancement in speed when comparing Kunena to Fireboard.

2. As our users are mainly not very computer-savvy nerds (ment in a positive way), it's not at all "just aetethics" when we want the image upload to be better. You would simply not image how many of the woman using our forum, is writing supporttickets about that they cannot upload their files. Look at almost any other forum - it will be possible to take almost any filetype and any filesize and reshape / resize it for proper use in the forum. This is what the users expect and not a question about "well, I'd rather have something that works than looks good".

:)

@ klp29

You have similar sized forum and similar audience as I do, so maybe some of your dreams will come true. :) Just remember to vote your favorite features in uservoice.
