Kunena 7.0.8 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.8 [K 7.0.8] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x./6.1.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

This category contains miscellaneous, uncategorised third-party extensions (e.g. JomSocial, Community Builder, etc.) relating to older versions of Kunena that are no longer supported.

This category may also contain a few topics relating to K 1.6 that may have been moved here possibly by mistake.

The topics in this category are for historical interest only. Owing to the structural differences between K 1.6 and K 1.7, the ideas in these topics may not work with later versions and, for that reason, the topics are locked.

Thanks @quila, this has led me to my theory. I am finding that version 1.5.10 starts to use the thumbnail version of the avatar, but the default size of the thumbnail was too small (IMO) but now there is no refurting back to the original size. This is why this setting is not working now.

I got this off another thread
@quila wrote:

komponents / com_kunena / template / default_ex / kunena.forum.css
line 735

add red colored text

#Kunena span.fb_avatar img {
border:1px solid #BFC3C6;
margin:5px;
max-width:150px;
padding:1px;
}

So, is there a way to toggle thumbnail image and original?

Thanks for letting me know about the broken link in my earlier message - I've fixed it now. @quila's suggestion (to look at your Community Builder avatar settings) was going to be my next idea. All that I can say, as an explanation for why there you're encountering this changed behaviour since upgrading to K 1.5.11, is that there was an change to Kunena to correct defective behaviour in displaying avatar images that were a much bigger problem (introduced in K 1.5.8) than the one you are now encountering. :)

We posted at the same time. Yes, you are right. Seems Kunena is now using the CB thumbnail image instead of the original and having it scale down to size. I would think this would make the forum load quicker if the avatars were large in size and being rerendered on the fly, so to say.

So this is a case of you can't please everyone. I had applied your fix for the previous problem but now you have fixed the problem and I had the resizing of the avatar set to low for our taste.

So the questions now,
Plan A: can I toggle between the original and still rerender the larger avatar?
or
Plan B: am I going to make all my users reload their avatars to get the right size loaded?

(I'm betting you guys will say Plan B:)

There may be a third option: ask for help at Joomlapolis . What do they say?

You just said that to blow my bet on Plan B.
Thanks, I'll ask them and if I get a Plan C: from them I will follow up here so to share with anyone who comes looking into the same problem I've run into.

Thanks for the help guys.

Going with Plan B: User reload avatars after adjusting the default thumbnail size. Working well and no revolt from the users.

Thanks for your help.
