Question [Resolved] Dead links due to conflicting SEO settings in JomSocial-generated category descriptions

This is not really a Kunena problem. This is not even a Joomla problem. This is a case of a bad link formed by a misuse of Kunena boardcode (complicated, in part, by a site that does not use search engine-friendly URLs)

You've removed the fist of the two wrongly-formed links (the one labelled Default/General members in your illustration). I can, however, explain what you've done wrong with the second wrongly-formed link (the one labelled COYOTE INC). The link translates to http: //<your domain-name>"/index.php?option=com_kunena&amp;Itemid=0&amp;func=showcat&amp;catid=9"

Have a look at the boardcode you used. It will look like this, I think: Solution: get rid of the quotes!

Another good idea is to invest a few minutes to learn about SEO .

So in Layman's Terms, I had SEO urls turned off in Joomla, but turned on in Kunena :blush: That would have been a simple oversight on my part. I didnt think I was misusing anything, but I do apologize for being daft.

The thing is, as mentioned I am not coding these links and descriptions. Joomla's JomSocial is doing that automatically when a group is created because I have Kunena set to create a forum for each group when they are created.

I did turn off SEO urls in Kunena for the time being, which solved the problem instantly. I thank you for the advice.

OK, so what you're effectively saying is that this is a JomSocial problem.

I regret that I have no knowledge of JomSocial or how it's put together but I will move this topic to the JomSocial category in the hope that someone else can help you.

No, I'm not saying it's JomSocials problem.
I'm not even saying it's a problem, everything is doing what it is suppose to be doing.
I just had contradicting SEO settings which you already pointed out.

This is still, essentially, something that only affects JomSocial groups users. I'm glad it has all worked out!
