Kunena 7.0.4 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

This category contains miscellaneous, uncategorised third-party extensions (e.g. JomSocial, Community Builder, etc.) relating to older versions of Kunena that are no longer supported.

This category may also contain a few topics relating to K 1.6 that may have been moved here possibly by mistake.

The topics in this category are for historical interest only. Owing to the structural differences between K 1.6 and K 1.7, the ideas in these topics may not work with later versions and, for that reason, the topics are locked.

This problem started in K 1.5.8 and it continues into K 1.5.9. The workaround is given in my last message above.

I just discovered something else last night. If your images are the correct size in Kunena after applying this fix, but the entire user area on the right is still too large, check your image settings in CB. I had mine set so that the maximum size could be 800 height X 600 width (don't know why I set it so large, that was a mistake). When I set it to 500 height X 200 width, the problem was solved. I had to FTP the existing (large) user avatars to my computer, re-size them, then FTP them back to the server, but it worked. If you need to re-size existing avatars because your CB settings were too large, the files are located in (root)/images/comprofiler and will have the user ID number at the beginning of the filename. You don't have to change the "tn" files in there, just the larger version.

Fortunately the site I had this trouble in is brand new and only had 10 members when I did this last night.

Hope this helps for anyone who is still having trouble with the user area width in Kunena.

Thanks again for the fix that is posted here. :)

Does the advice, repeated at least three times in this topic, not work for you?

Change Kunena CSS file:

#Kunena span.fb_avatar img {
border:1px solid #BFC3C6;
margin:5px;
max-width:90px;
padding:1px;
}

Actually no. As i said, This doesn't change the size of the Frame around the Image in IE.

I would prefer to have the Thumbnail-File (indicated through a "tn" at the beginning of the filename) used instead of the full-sized avatar files (as they are rather huge on my site and i don't want to load huge images when they display only small).

How and where chan i change this.

Thank you for your assistance.

freaks and darksoul: Of course, it makes a lot more sense to use the thumbnail images instead of resizing larger ones. As for how or where to make those source code changes, I don't know the answer so I will report this to the development team.

Eliminating the scroll bars should be fairly easy. If someone has a website URL where this behaviour exists, I would like to see it for myself. We should be able to devise a workaround until the problem is properly corrected. :)

Hello!

I have problem. Kunena uses users avatars from Community Builder. But a problem is - in forum is avatar same size, while CB. I don't find, where is a option, where Kunena resize avatar picture? Yes, if upload avatar picture in Kunena, then resize works fine, but if uses CB avatar, resize not working.
