Kunena 6.3.8 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.3.8 [K 6.3.8] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 4.4.x/5.0.x/5.1.x/5.2.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.3
Note: Please go to the Kunena Dashboard after an upgrade so that the Kunena database tables are also updated.

Just looked quickly through the code... Here are the changes I noticed in there (may overlap with other notes):
  • empty board email address = use site address
  • pdf output removed (joomla 2.5 doesn't support out of the box)
  • backend is now in MVC
  • templates are now in MVC (limited backwards support)
  • global moderators can manage announcements (was userid list)
  • help and rules pages are now menu items with bbcode/html support
  • categories now have aliases -- no mode catid in the urls, old aliases keep on working
  • integrations are now plugins (configuration migrated)
  • shadow topics are now always created on merges (just deleted)
  • image/file upload settings have mods + admins
  • threaded / intended view on topic
  • possibility to hide page creation time
  • setting: manage attachments in user profiles
  • setting: guests / new users need approval on posting
  • setting: attachment limit per post
  • setting: no category selected on posting
  • setting: do not send any emails
  • setting: fallback to English if translations are missing
  • settings for caching
  • new bbcode parser
  • integration: complete framework to do all the tasks in the forum
  • router has been redesigned for better performance and to be more general
  • router can convert most legacy urls into new ones
  • router uses languages own transliteration (or utf8) J!2.5
  • locked categories with no posts => section
  • permament URLs
  • category index only shows topics which user can see
  • much improved and more general ACL handling
  • unthankyou (is this new?)
  • many smaller and better organized language files
  • find menu item issues in the backend
  • remove kunena_menu position, use our own menu instead
  • improved login integration
  • topic icons have been changed
  • separate topic icon for deleted, unapproved, locked, sticky
