Question "There was an error uploading this file to the server" installation error (again)

I have recently built a site using Joomla Version 1.5.20 and have Community builder 1.3 running with php 5.

I have other community builder plugins ( for auto login ) running swwet as nut and have not had any install issues..

Safe mode is off

I am trying via community builder plugin add new .. browsing to com_kunena_v1.6.2_b3894_2010-12-29.zip for the file and whilst the install/upload begins after a few seconds it says

Failed to move uploaded file to /var/www/html/tmp/ directory
Tried various forums / google / here and cant find this error

Any help much appreciated..

I'm not sure that I understand the problem. You posted your message in the K 1.5 Installation, Upgrade and Migration category. Are you trying to install K 1.5 or K 1.6?

You do not install Kunena via the Community Builder plugin installation tool. Whatever gave you that idea? :S Kunena is a Joomla extension. You install Kunena via the Joomla Extension Manager.

Apologies yes 1.6 I posted in wrong section - been reading and pulling at hair for far too long this evening it is V1.6.2 as zip file name

Why the hell have I been trying to do this through comm build... doh !

"There was an error uploading this file to the server": we get this question a few times, that's why it's helpful if people put the exact error message in the subject. It's much more helpful to put the error message as the subject instead of using the subject "Installing Kunena error". Yes, of course ... that's the whole purpose of the K 1.6 Installation and Upgrade category ... installation errors! What we need to do is find out what is the error/problem that you are having with installing Kunena. Does that make sense?

You can probably find more information if you search the forum for search . Does that help you?

Kinda solved... upgrade of php required must have mis read it..
PHP version: 5.1.6 (Required >= 5.2.3)
