I wrote, can you please create a test site. Do you understand what I mean? I'm suggesting that you create another site, just for testing purposes ... just to test to see if you can install Kunena. What's so hard about that?

I did not advise you to change anything about your production site ... well, not yet, anyway! :)

Thank You for very detailed instructions. Unfortunately it didn't work for me. My problem was exactly the same, but I get error message is like this:

Server error.

The website encountered an error while retrieving valokaista.fi/administrator/index.php?op...c5b5b270b0fb45f406=1 . It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly

The difference in my case was, that I intended to migrate from Kunena 1.5.2 to 1.6.2 and with these instructions, the problem remains the same, repeated error message and invalid discussion forum in users side.

Version of Joomla is 1.5.22 and php version is 5.2.6

Maybe there is something I can do differently... every kind of help is very much appreciated.

The weariest thing is that in my identical test site everything worked as planned, with no problems at all with installation. But when I entered to the production site, the fun started immediately.

Then the problem is the way that your production site was setup. The problem is not with Kunena.

I think the problem is a folder/file ownership/permissions problem. What do you think is the difference between your test site and your production site?

Many thanks for fast answer. I was making comparision between the two sites, they are in two different servers, but Apache, PHP and Mysql versions are the same and version of Joomla is the same. But in the production server there was an older version of Community Builder (1.21) and older version of UDDEim (1.9). In test server there are the newest versions. In both servers i'm using Akeeba admin tools and it's automated script for the rights of folders. So I suppose what I have to do is uppgrade CB and Uddeim to the newest versions and try again. Let see after that...

Another thing might be the instalation from URL: Do you know where you can find instalation files for Kunena 1.62 in order to try this. I found only 1.6.1 untill now..
'
Thank you in advance

Matti
