Can't Install Kunena, tried all 3 methods. was created by arprod
Hello, I have recently downloaded Kunena 1.6
I operate and maintain a website for an online gaming community. I do NOT host our server, another person does, i just run the joomla client on the server.
I have my own personal test server hosted elsewhere.
I uploaded and installed Kunena without a problem to my test server.
When I try to upload it to the live site, it gets and error while trying to upload. I assume its due to Kunena 1.6 being 2+MB, i read that somewhere.
When I try to install from directory "/tmp/com_kunena_v1.6.1_b3858_2010-11-06.zip" it says it cant find the isntall package.
I UNZIPPED THE FILE AND RE-UPLOADED VIA FTP AND RENAMED THE UN-ZIPPED FILE "Kunena"
I went back to the "isntall from directory" option and tried all of the following options:
'/tmp/kunena'
'/tmp/kunena/install'
'/tmp/kunena/install/install.xml'
'/tmp/kunena/install/install.php'
'/tmp/kunena/install.kunena.php'
'/tmp/kunena/install.script.php'
'/tmp/kunena/kunena.php'
'/tmp/kunena/kunena.admin.php'
I get the same error each time "can't find install package"
I have tried installing from URL:
" joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsrelease/13...b3858_2010-11-06.zip "
The error message i get from that is attached in a screenshot

Watto.us runs on Joomla 1.5.22
My test site (which kunena installed on with no problems at all) runs Joomla 1.5.21
PhP is version 5.2.12
MySQL version 5.0.91
Like I said, my test site allowed me to upload directly into joomla, the live site wont let me, so i have to install from directory or from a URL, both of which give errors.

arprod: would you like to answer xillibit's question, please? I'm sure you have no problems running Kunena on your test site. As you say, your test site is not hosted on the same server where you are having problems installing Kunena. The question is: what are the technical specifications of the server where you are trying to install Kunena? It is your job to find that information. Can you find out, please?
