Kunena 7.0.4 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

I see. There is definitely a problem with two things:

1.) Menu module you use. It shoots off 40+ queries just for the menu itself.
2.) Your ad manager also runs tons of queries.

Together with Kunena this totals 104 queries.

For comparison here on kunena.com with all kunena modules turned on and JomSocial integration enabled, we run some 40 queries - of which 18 come from Joomla itself. If you turn of certain options in Kunena, you get even less queries. Out of your 104 queries some 25 are Kunena, the rest is other stuff.

It seems you just have too much stuff on your page and it is costly.

Hello!

Which version of Ad Agency are you using? The latest one is 1.6.14, so make sure you upgrade and let me know if you're still having a problem, we optimize performance all the time.

Can someone give examples of the certain options that can be turned off?

Here are a few example of optional modules/plugins/features that do 'cost' extra:

WhoIsOnline (below the Category Index)
Kunena Statistics (# of posts yesterday and today....)

both you can turn off in the Kunena config under plugins

3rd party integration 'costs' extra: e.g. jomSocial or CB profile integration will lead to extra queries because these components do run their own queries in addition to Kunena.

But most importantly other plugins and modules you run on your site. Kunena itself has been optimized heavily but many plugins and modules out there have not.

Like in this case something is installed that runs 40+ menu queries.
