Hi,
I upgraded my joomla template to JA Social and then upgrade my kunena to K1.6.0 and now my site is running very very slow and i called the hosting company and they said it is because the httpd is using huge amount of the cpu.

I dont know how to fix this, I am on a VPS with 832mb ram hosted in Australia.

Can you turn on Joomla debug mode and look at the query and memory consumptions of various pages? FYI if you set the Joomla debug plugin to access level 'Special' only admins will see its output.

We just ran into and issue with jomSocial and custom menus that cause a lot of extra queries to get generated by JS.

If its not that I would check all your plugins you are running.

We continue to do load testing with all our releases and 1.6.0 stable is at the very minimum as fast or faster than the prior RCs and up to 10x faster than 1.5.x

Do you have JomSocial installed? It has a bug where you get huge amount of SQL queries when there are no JomSocial entries in the menu.

Can you copy and paste the queries into the thread (into a code section). Need to see them.

On most systems you should see 30-40 queries with 1/2 of them coming from Kunena. If you have more, it means something is doing extra queries. Could be JS but it could also be a plugin or module.
