Hi,

I know this is an old thread but I tried what you suggested and it didn't help.

Any other idea would be really appreciated.

Yes, this is an old topic. The problems described in this topic are, however, all caused by the same thing: the Joomla site template that people have chosen is too narrow to use effectively with a high volume, high use forum.

The ideas that we've shown to people for when they encounter the situations discussed in this topic are only band-aids for the real problem. If you have a forum that turns over hundreds (or thousands) of messages, and the topic size grows to more than a few pages, then you really should be re-thinking the design of your website.

Yes, there are other ways you can put more band-aids to cover the problem. Alternatively you could do a little bit of surgery and fix the problem for good. It depends on what you consider to be the main draw-card of your website; if Kunena is the main reason your customers come to your website then pay attention to how well the forum pages look. If Kunena is not the main reason that people use your site then problems like these are a lesser worry.

I don't know anything about your website but, as a general comment, a professional webdesigner could probably fix this problem within an hour or two. If you can't fix the problem yourself then maybe it's worthwhile considering paying someone for an hour or two of their time to fix it for you.

Many thanks for your elaborated answer!

You are right. My site template is narrow. I managed to band-aid it somehow and If my site would turn really big I will sure consider my template design.

Having migrated a Joomla v1.5.23 site to v1.7.2 I found I needed to re-install Kunena (all files being present but there was no component administration). This all seemeed to work OK. However, I notice that the pagination (Page ¦1¦ ¦2¦ etc) is sliced off top and bottom and is therefore a bit difficult to read. This may be a CSS issue, but I would like some help to resolve please. I attach an image and the configuration report is as follows. Thanks.

i should have added that I would like the pagination to be the same as on this forum; i.e. numbers clearly readable in boxes. Thanks.
