I read through the installation process and did as instructed. I get "unable to find install package". I have tried by downloading the zip and tried install via url as it stateds in the wiki link.

Watch the video in K 1.6 installation guide ;) That might help you understand why you are getting the "unable to find install package" message. You're pressing the wrong button.

I did it just like in the video, step by step exactly as shown. Same result. Also got a red stripe warning saying "JFolder::create: Infinite loop detected"

After a month of delay. I finally figure out the loop problem in my joomla tmp directory and have upgraded to the latest Kunena 1.6.4! How would I go about completing the orginal question of this thread?

This is what I see when I visit your website:

Is this what your question is about? Is this what I am supposed to see or am I supposed to see something different? If this is what I am supposed to see then you have a problem - I have circled the text "you have not categories in the section". Please see Sections, Categories, sub-categories (part 1)

If we are supposed to see something different, can you please show us a picture and what needs to be fixed. Thank you.

No. To see the categories you need to register to see them. The forum works correctly I was wanting to get the menus on the left hand side (login box) to disappear or just link to the kunena module directly because the formating cuts off some of the forum posts.
