Hello!

I have installed K 1.6 and have tried to replace on folder Template/default the files that I modified in Kunena 1.5, but it doesn't work; what could I do?

In K 1.5, I changed the next files:
fb_layout
fb_pathway
flat
listcat
message
view

And images folder.

The appearance of my K 1.5 was like this:

Really thanks!!

You cannot use K 1.5 templates with K 1.6. This information is clearly marked in the release notes .

You need to use templates designed and developed for K 1.6

But... could I redo it changing some lines into the files? In that case, the options (lines) I modified, should be on files with the same name it has on K 1.5?

As the basis for building your own template for K 1.6, you should start with a K 1.6 template (like the Blue Eagle template) and change that. Alternatively you can use someone else's template (look in the Kunena Extensions Directory . As another alternative, you can pay someone to develop a template that better suits your purposes.

Do not try to copy files (that were designed for K 1.5) into the /template folder.

Ok, thank you

Sozzled, I don't know if I must continue writing here my doubts or open a new thread with each one.

But I ask you little more at the moment!:

-How can I change these color bars to be like marked in green? (gradient black) (I seem to have understood I only can change into smooth colors, but I'm not quite sure)
-"Mark all topics" read is too big and not legible.

-And, I can't change the buttons of the forum (reply, quote, etc). I have downloaded default.png from folder icons and uploded mine with changed colors (removed old default.png) and it doesn't change.
These are my new icons: img41.imageshack.us/img41/5537/defaultnuevo.png

Thanks!

As a new user of K 1.6 these issues may be new to you. K 1.6 has been available as a stable public release for over 6 months and many of the questions you have asked have been asked before (and answered).

Yes, it's possible to have a gradated background for any web element but is it really a pressing need at this time? As a new user of K 1.6 I would strongly recommend against changing the design of your template because, unless you know how to change your template in the recommended manner you may find yourself in the same situation you were in a few days ago: using an old version of software, finding it next-to-impossible to upgrade because you had "customised" yourself into a corner that that you could not escape from.

My recommendation, to anyone who wants to customise colours, fonts, background, etc. is don't!. If you must do these things, get someone else to do the work for your ... or use a site template that works "nicely" with the default template designed, developed and maintained by the project team! In the 2 years that I have been using Kunena, I have upgraded the software about 80 times on all those websites where I use it. I have never once had a problem upgrading software. Why? Because I never changed it!

So, yes, we can change the background of the menu tabs and section headers (as you showed in your picture) and, for a small fee, I could probably do this for you. Or, for no cost at all, you could change the colours to a smooth, non-gradated background. If you want, you could also use some other template (either a free one or one that you buy) that might work better with your website.

If you use Firebug (for example) you can change the font size of the "Mark all topics read" button. It's almost certain that the reason the font size is inappropriate in your case is because of the site template that you're using. If you don't want to do fix this yourself then you could probably hire someone to do this job for you.

The "Mark all topics read" button is probably the easiest one to fix. The fix is probably something like adding, to your site template file, the following 3 lines
Code:
#Kunena .klist-markallcatsread input.kbutton { font-size: 12px; }

Search for "button sets" in this site to find out how to add your own buttons.
